As we all know that elections are an important mechanism in democratic and peace processes.
Julie Obi, an Si4DeV partner cordinated a strategic dialogue on peaceful elections, leadership and good governance hosted by strategy and innovative for development Initiative, a non governmental organization whose focus is to create a collaborative of young people, empowered through capacity development programs and knowledge sharing.
The event was held on Monday, the 16th of May 2022 at the American Corner, Ikeja Lagos.
We had in attendance, Janine Lewis, a political officer from the US Consulate who shared the concern and the area where the US Missions to Nigeria is supporting free and fair elections in Nigeria and many other supports from the US Government.
Similarly, Lanre Ogundipe the Executive Director of Imperial Education said youth involvement and participation in politics, civic education should be reintroduced into Nigeria educational systems.
And Alabi Opeyemi representing All Progressives Congress APC appealed to Nigeria youth to be deeply involved in politics at all levels most especially at the grassroots.
SI4DEV is a non governmental organization that campaigns for good governance, improved service delivery, transparency and accountability.
