Over 50 men and women in Pakuro Village in Ogun State near Lagos have been part of the pilot project by Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative (SI4DEV) partner Juliet Obi to acquire vocational skills, become business owners and improve their community.

The people embraced the training and at completion, all received certificates of training as well as mentoring for a selection of participants.

Since then, 10 women have received a small grant of 10000 naira to support them in setting up a cottage industry with the confectionery making skills they learnt.

Please watch video below to hear directly from some of these women, and see all ten that were beneficiaries of the start-up funding.
