The scouting of schools for the HAPPY LEARNERS PROJECT is indeed a tasking one as it required real screening across board for effective execution. This is done so as to meet the objective of the project and also meet the need of the schools and community that needs this project. The actualization of this stage of the project is attributed to the formidable planning done by the PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT TEAM (PAMT) while the SCOUT AND LOGISTICS MANAGER (SLM) executed the task by carrying out the field work of travelling across the 5 LGAs to pick the selected 25 Schools for the Project.

The scouting of schools for the project was temporarily placed on hold because of security challenges experienced which limited access in some of the LGAs and restricted movement to such locations. For several weeks, the State Government placed between 12 – 24hour curfews in these locations to for public safety due to communal clashes and violence. This decision slowed down the work and contributed to the late submission of the scout report. When the situation of things calmed down the scouting process was completed.
The following Local Government Areas and the schools under them were visited by the Scout and Logistics Manager. The 25 Schools for Happy Learners Project are ready.

The Scout Manager encountered some challenges; this is seen in the behavior of the school stakeholders towards contribution on the project. While this reflects the crowd funding process of the project, it also showcases the prevalent mindset of most people from this region. Even though the stakeholders’ attitude toward financial donation is not positive, they are happy to have their schools in the list of those to be visited. Attached are some of the pictures from the school visited.
