As part of measures to support the stay at home directive by the government, SI4DEV shared food items in several locations across many states of the federation and Kogi state happened to be one of the state. The volunteer lead and the State Cordinator Mr. Samuel Unekwu Elias and the Co-Lead Mr. Adeika Ayo Abrahim led the distribution of the food items and along with other volunteers paid a visit to the community head in his palace.
In his speech, the Team lead said that the Food distribution is a measure to complement government efforts at this critical time during which the various is spreading everyday and there are lockdown to stop the transmission.
Receiving the volunteers, the community head appreciate SI4DEV for deeming it fit to affect the lives of the people of his community in this critical time. He said that this is one of the greatest thing that has happen in his community, and prayed that God will continue to strenghthen and also open more ways for the NGO.
Thereafter the volunteers embarked on door to door distribution of the food item. Speaking on behalf of the receivers of the item, the youth leader of the community appreciated the kind gesture and the opportunity given to his community. He said that this has never happened as large as this in the history of the community, that he hopes that other NGO of likes minds will also emulate SI4DEV.
The group also went to major junction is Lokoja the state capital (Ganaja Junction) to distribute flier on prevention of COVID 19 to motorist and passerby as part of prevention measure. All thanks to SI4DEV for giving us the opportunity to serve our community.
