A lot of people have been affected globally by the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, some have lost hope, while others believe they can make a difference no matter how little. Not many are willing to sacrifice their little resources to support other vulnerable groups in society.
It is in these difficult times, that SI4DEV has decided to support partners and Volunteers to reach out to their local communities, by carrying out intervention projects meant to alleviate the sufferings of the people. Part of this project involves sensitizing people on how to prevent COVID-19 infection, and to support Primary health care workers with necessary resources to enhance the work and to encourage them.
The Port Harcourt location group has taken the initiative to reach out to the Primary Health care center at Rumuodamaya in Obiakpor LGA of Rivers State. We were able to procure and donate some PPE and other essential materials for health workers and deliver them to the chief medical officer at The Rivers State Model Primary Health Care facility in Rumuodamaya. The items includes;
Disposable hand Gloves,
Hand Sanitizer,
N95 filtering face mask,
Protective glasses,
Ordinary face masks.
The management and staff of the facility were indeed excited and full of appreciation to SI4DEV for the laudable Initiative.
Also, partners and Volunteers who participated were happy that they were making impact in the lives of others through this Initiative at this trying times.
Partners that were present are;
Francis Eghehan – project lead
Chinenyenwa Precious – co-lead
Austin Otuji – Partner
Favour Ndukwe – Volunteer
Wemi Waekite – Volunteer.
Thank you SI4DEV for this Initiative!
