Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative (SI4DEV) Kwara state carried out a community project in a bid to get ahead of healthcare overload that could result from covid-19 pandemic response without adequate social protection.
SI4DEV community volunteers in the Ilorin location group paid a visit to the Deputy Governor of Kwara state Mr Kayode Alabi, who is also the chairman of the task force team for the fight against the pandemic in the state.
SI4DEV team presented the donation of PPE and other supplies to the Deputy Governor. These included face masks, Safety glass, protective gloves, protective head cover, protective disposable gowns.
One of SI4DEV member, Kayode Jegede said the PPE was SI4DEV’s support for the government in their efforts to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
The Deputy Governor, Mr Alabi thank the NGO (SI4DEV) for their support and also urged other well-meaning Nigerians to join hands in supporting the efforts to put the virus in check in the state.
The second community project was carried out at Garri processing company at Sabo oke Ilorin Kwara state, where we donated 2 buckets, 2 hand washing soap, 1 hand sanitizer, 1 pack of face masks.
We sensitized the users of the Garri mill about how to prevent the spread of covid-19 and reduce coronavirus transmission through personal hygiene including regular hand washing and use of face masks.
One of the beneficiaries, a 32 years old trader Mrs Olarewaju Ibukun expressed her gratitude and thanks to the organization for benefiting from the awareness carried out.
