DETAILS

The meeting started at 5:00pm with an opening prayer by Ngoama Wemi, and was presided over by Mr. Austin Otuji who began by welcoming all members to the meeting and asked each person to take turns in introducing themselves.

Next was the ice breaker session which created an interactive atmosphere for volunteers and partners to learn about the ultimate goal each member would like to accomplish in their lifetime.

On the WASH project update, items required to implement the project were listed;

  • Hand wash
  • Detergent
  • Antiseptics
  • Bowls
  • Disposable nose mask
  • Surgical gloves
  • Waste baskets

Members were told to support the project financially according to their resources before the project date. One of our members suggested that because of our numbers we could form two teams, each to visit a school on same day so that we can effectively manage time. It was agreed that this idea should be discussed on the whatsApp platform where we would know the actual number of volunteers that will be available for the project before we form the teams.

The lead facilitators were asked to prepare short scripts of 5 minutes presentation/demonstration for the outreach.

Suggestion towards upcoming project for next quarter was made by Mr. Wemi, he suggested that we should partner with the Rivers state agency for the control of Aids by adopting a community and writing to them for support in order to carry out HIV & AIDS sensitization and free testing.

Mr. Francis also reminded the house that there was a pending project for the provision of 3D Zebra crossing near a public school along Ikwerre road, stating that the budget was still being worked out by one of us.

Lastly, questions were asked by intending partners on the requirements and expectations from partners of si4dev. This was copiously answered by si4dev alumni members who were present at the meeting.

Mr. Francis suggested that an announcement should be made on the platform that members who are not active, and do not attend three sequential meetings without excuse should be removed from the platform unless they have cogent reasons.

The meeting came to an end at 6:30pm.
