Finding political support for health insurance has hitherto been seen as the most important challenge for Nigeria to achieve universal health coverage. Recently, we have been noticing some improvements, and the communities are happy to be carried along.
On the 23rd May, 2019, the Nigeria National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in conjunction with Hon. Dr. Anietie Udo enrolled two hundred and forty three lives under the federal government vital community health insurance program (VCHIP) in the Primary Health Centre, Ikot Ideh, Essien Udim Local Government Area.
The Honorablee Minister of Health was represented by Dr. M.E.J. Bassey (Senior Technical Assistant to the Permanent Secretary), Clerk of the Federal House of Representative was represented by Mr. Mathew Ogu etc.
