SI4DEV REPORT ON COVID 19 INTERVENTION IN IKOT EKPENE LGA, AKWA IBOM STATE

The SI4DEV Ikot Ekpene branch was supported by SI4DEV with N 100, 000 to purchase food items and support families affected by the COVID 19 epidemic and also support the health facility with test kits against the virus outbreak.

The Ikot Ekpene team led by Akaninyene Obot and co-led by Princess Amos carried out the intervention program on Monday, the 13th April, 2020 in company of three other volunteers who indicated interest to be part of the outreach despite the lockdown in the state. They were Samuel Kenneth, Cletus Ogbodo and Mark James.

On 13th April, 2020, the team purchased the following food items for distribution to seventeen (17) vulnerable household;

The team was able to identify the 17 vulnerable households in Ikot Otor village, Urua Tor village, Odorombot Street, Aba Road and Amanyam village. See Pictures attached below.

On the 20th April, 2020 the team also distributed testing kits to Ikot Ekpene Primary Health Care Base along Library Avenue. The team was led by Akaninyene Obot in company with Cletus Ogbodo and Mark James who were able to avail themselves despite the lockdown in the state. At the facility, the deputy director was present to receive the items in the absence of the Director. See pictures attached below:
