It been a week we celebrated the International Women’s Day. I apologize it’s coming late to everyone. It went well and my amazing team put in their best to make it a success.
We visited Women Day School, Maiduguri, Borno State. The principal permitted us and we had an attendance of over 100 students. Our target was S.S3 students because they are almost done with school and may not have the opportunity again.
Our volunteers in Maiduguri, who are also advocates for Gender equality and Human Right were the resource persons to discuss the theme:
Understanding the right of women & Girls : Ending violence against women and girls.
They are:
1. Orbunde Penguin Godwin – Gender Equality Advocate
2. Goodness Donatus – Human right Advocate
3. Stella Image – Gender Equality Advocate.
The seminar was anchored by a volunteer of the location group, Mr. Emmanuel who also serve in the school. While the school teacher handled the technical issues.
Miss Uwara Ekanem who is SI4DEV partner gave a brief talk about SI4DEV initiatives and also an overview of the purpose of the event.
The seminar paper were presented to the Women Day School Principal for reference purpose. Finally we had a group photograph.
