Report of the SI4DEV Ado Ekiti location group meeting – 16th April 2018. – Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative

DISCUSSIONS
The meeting started with 7 people in attendance as almost every members on the location page are now active. Deliberations in the meeting stars with reviewing the last discussions on the plans for April. This we did by revisiting the pans we had in getting in touch to various school to discuss the goal setting plan to senior secondary school student. We reviewed this and made a decision to address all the school. We divided ourselves to a team of four (2 in each team) and each team will be in charge of two schools each. Submission of letters will start next week immediately after resumption which will be followed up with the sensitization program. Each teams are to give update of their activities on the whatsapp page. The location partner will be drafting out a content heading tat will be discussed with the students in the school to foster uniformity in communication.
Secondly, as regards the pledge of the national body to commemorate the global youth action day, our team made several deliberations and resolve to organize an awareness campaign on the need for youth to be actively involved in electioneering process. This we plan by targeting two locations, first Ekiti State University on the 20th and Ado Ekiti on the 21st of this month. Plans are on ground to reach out to INEC to provide with customize awareness materials for support. (We at this point request for support as per printing campaign flyer as our target audience is a big community with our target to be 7 thousand youths).
Lastly, the Location partner appreciate new members of the team as the meeting had in attendance 3 new members as well as 5 old members. He also preached the need for commitment to the organization. He finally talked about the twitter session that will be holding this Saturday which will be directed by the program manager.
The meeting came to an end by 7pm with eight volunteers available.
