REPORT ON THE SI4DEV UYO, AKWA IBOM BRAINSTORMING MEETING

The meeting had the following in attendance :

OPENING
The meeting started with an opening prayer,which was taken by Felicia at about 4:40pm

MATTERS OF THE DAY

Grace welcomed SI4Dev partners and intimated partners about the essence of the meeting was to brainstorm projects and activities that can be carried out for the priorities listed F and G as highlighted in Uyo needs Assessment report.

She equally informed members about the global giving project. She implored partners to be ever ready for the kick off date to ensure the success of the programme.

She also brought to the notice of partners that we are expected to write monthly report or at least quarterly report. She said the task will be shared among members.

RESOLUTIONS OF PARTNERS
Partners at the meeting resolved that advocacy visit should be paid to the following individuals and places.

National Directorate of Employment (NDE)
Uyo local Government Area Chairman
Social Investment Scheme
Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)
Commissioner for Youth and sports
Ministry of Education
Ministry of Environment
Market Union (Uyo Market)

Partners also resolved to carry out the following to curb Alcoholism and drug abuse :
Adopt two secondary schools (boarding and day schools)
Establish a Junior SI4Dev club that will be called “Champions Club”
Carry trainings and seminars for Jss2 and SS2 in the adopted schools that will address corruption, cultism, substance abuse, examination malpratices and other social vices.

ACTION POINTS
Dissemination of reports and letters. This will be done by Utibe and Felicia.
Preparation of work plan for June 2018. It was agreed that Grace and Utibe will handle this
Submission of brainstorming report. This was assigned to Aniekan Ukpabio

CLOSING
The meeting came to a close at about 6:59pm with a closing prayer, taken by Ejogha Brown.
