Women are life as without them, the human race can not be sustained. But it’s so unfortunate that, some women and girls are being marginalized and some exposed to violence in some part of the world. The United Nations amongst other concerned bodies saw this need and advocate for gender equality amongst the sustainable development goals the world should work to achieve by the end of 2030.
The Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative under the supervision of the National Program Manager (Nkem Akinsoto) therefore encouraged all location group to organize a seminar around the international Women’s Day as a means of recognizing women and also providing them with information necessary to empower them.
On that note, the Ado Ekiti location group under the supervision of Mr Taoheed O ALIMI (Donald) took action to organize a seminar. This seminar which was held on Saturday the 17th of March, 2018 took place at Christ School, Ado Ekiti.
Into the seminar, we had three resource person discuss on the theme. They are; Mrs Labake Oke who stood in for Rev (Mrs) Lola Afe ( Co-Pastor, the house of faith fellowship), Miss Omotola Aboloye ( Lecturer of Civil engineering and the coordinator of Nobel women in Ekiti, Ondo and Osun state) and the third person is Mr Taoheed ALIMI (The Ekiti State location partner for Strategy and Innovation for development Initiative).
The seminar successfully communicate it’s mission which is to provide information on “Understanding the right of Women and Girls: Ending Violence against Women and Girls” which was the theme of the program.
