One of the greatests achievement that one can attain in life is when he/she set up a proper planning for itself.

It was a great moment when different brain comes together to think and achieve something.

The meeting started about 4:30pm with a brief introduction from the members.
The partner/location coordinator Mr. Elias Samuel Unekwu thanks the members and apologise for his absence in the last courtesy visit to the Kogi State Ministry of Heath. He briefed the members on the journey so far. He said the group has perform wonderfully well in this month (June). He list some of the achievement as follow: Drug Awareness Campaign to Bishop Delise Secondary School Lokoja, Kogi State, Video on voters sensitization awareness campaign (Get Your PVC), courtesy visit to the Commandant, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA Kogi State Commnad and the courtesy Visit to the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Heath, Kogi State.

MATTER ARISING: training on drugs abuse for members by Department of NDLEA Kogi State. He said the training become so important as a result of the findings during the courtesy visit. He further said that, the agency has asked the group to provide the following: Venue, Date, Time, Age and Numbers of Participants. Responding, members suggested that other similar NGO should be invited to the training.

The location coordinator said that, he finds out that the Kogi, Lokoja location group is lacking training which was also noticed by Executive Director Mrs Nkem Akinsoto. In respond to that, members suggest that there is a need to discuss with other NGO in the state for them to involve the group in any of their training. Some of them also said that the coming courtesy visit to PIBCID/ACTIONAID should be the best avenue to discuss that.

The location coordinator also said that, Kogi State Group needs to think of projects in the four focus area of SI4DEV which is enterprises, heath, education and good governance. Responding, some member suggested that that the group don’t necessary need to start with high capital intensive project. But with small project like, calendar for sensitization to be distributed in some chosen secondary school. Other suggested that there is a need to do a community base assessment and knows the urgent needs of some communities. After much deliberation, community base assessment was agreed for the following areas OSARA and OFULOKO and other communities within and outside Lokoja and this should be done before the next meeting.

The following programs were also suggested by members;
• World Youth Day coming up by, August 12th, 2018. It was agreed that SI4DEV should partner with Voice of the Youth Initiative who has already design a program for that purpose. The Location coordinator was directed to meet the coordinator of the Voice of the Youth Initiative in regards to that.
• World Peace Day Celebration, September 2018. Mr Victor Akabueze suggested that as a matter of urgency, the group should collaborate with PBCID on World Peace Day coming up by September, 2018.
• Independent day celebration, 1st of October: the group agreed to have a programme on good governance participation. It was suggested that the program should be a school debate among secondary school student in Lokoja, Kogi State and it was agreed upon that proper arrangement in regard to this should commence immediately.
• Invitation was given to us by World Institute for Peace Kogi State Chapter for their forth coming programme on 4th August, 2018.
Closing Remarks: The closing remarks was giving by the location coordinator Mr Elias Samuel Unekwu who thanked everyone for their wonderful contribution and promised to relay the calendar project to the Executive Director and all the suggested activities.
