SI4DEV LAGOS_MAGODO GROUP FACE TO FACE MEETING
The Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative (SI4DEV) Lagos_Magodo group, held her face to face meeting which lasted for 1 hour on Saturday, September 1, 2018. The meeting was held at the Debonairs Pizza section of the Ikeja Mall and was scheduled for 4:00pm, however it began at 5:00pm.
Attendance:
We had 4 persons in attendance:
- Nwamaka Osu
- Julie Obi
- Nnadi Victoria
- .O. Chibundu Chinenye (new volunteer)
DELIBERATIONS
The meeting began with introductions of the people present and we warmly welcomed the new volunteer in our midst.
Outstanding projects:
We deliberated about the projects that we have for September; the elaborate drug abuse campaign visit to Queens College and other secondary schools, and the prison visit in collaboration with Julie’s church, since they already have a regular monthly visit. Julie confirmed that the next scheduled visit is for October.
We agreed to arrange a visit to Queens College in order to get a concrete date.
The following under listed items, are needed for the prison visit:
- Printed fliers for the anti-drug abuse campaign
- Tooth brushes
- Sachet toothpastes
- Bathroom slippers
- Bathing soaps
- Sachet garri
Ways of increasing membership:
We agreed to recruit more volunteers with the fliers provided by SI4DEV, by posting on our various social media handles. We also intend to involve those of us who are opportune to work with a lot of young people to help recruit them as volunteers.
CONCLUSION:
The meeting ended at 6:30pm with closing prayers and we agreed that deliberations would continue to hold via the Whatsapp chat room platform and we would hold subsequent face to face meetings as the need arises.
