REPORT OF SI4DEV KOGI LOKOJA FACE TO FACE MEETING

MINUTES OF STRATEGY AND INNOVATION FOR DEVELOPMENT (SI4DEV) INITIATIVE FACE-FACE MEETING HELD ON 9^TH JUNE 2018, AT NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT OFFICE, LOKOJA

The meeting started at 10:20am with formal self introduction by all the members present thereafter Elias Samuel Unekwu gave brief information about SI4DEV.

Minute of the last meeting which was held online was read out.

MATTERS ARISING

PROGRAMME/PROJECT: A brief highlight of project held at other locations across the country was read out after which the floor was open to everyone to come up with their suggestion or ideas. It was suggested that we should try and organize voter’s education exercise or awareness after much deliberation it was agreed that voter’s exercise should take place and will should try and have online article and also INEC State Headquarter should be visited to know the level at which the voters in Kogi have registered. Letter of Courtesy/Permission should be written to INEC with immediate effect. Also it was agreed that 2 articles on voter’s education should be written in the name of SI4DEV Lokoja and be publish on Kogi report website and Graphic Newspaper. Also graphic poster was agreed to be designed for this education.

2. It was agreed upon that one of our major project before this year runs out is advocacy and awareness on Drug Abuse and other social vises, after more deliberation it was agreed that this programme should start from secondary students, and should be taken to the 21 local government of the state. The after serious deliberations it was agreed upon that the programme will commence on the 10^th of July, 2018 with schools suggested (Al-hasar Secondary School Newlayout and Bishop Delise Secondary School, Lokoja)
3. It was also suggested that a programme on women empowerment in the rural area should be organized and also advocacy on domestic violence on women and girls, after much deliberation it was concluded that the proposal for this project and programme should be discuss with the National Coordinator before further steps can be taken to achieve this project.

PARTNERSHIPS

It was said that we need partners to push most of this project to a greater height, after much suggestion and discussion it was agreed that a memo should be written to some organization that has focus in the same line of our projects. In view of this it was agreed that a call or text should be put across to the National Coordinator to enable us access the official letter headed of the organization.

A.O.B

It was agree that all the members of this location need to be very active with the activities of this organization that any member that has not register as a partner should try and do so on www.si4dev.org and also we should try and be very active on our social network, the website and meetings.

It was suggested that we need to have means of identification like uniform, hand band etc for easy identification.

It was agree that the officially meeting days are: online every Wednesday 9:00pm-10:00pm while face to face meeting is every last Saturday of the month by 10:00am (venue to be announce)

Elias Samuel Unekwu thanks everyone who have make it a point of duty to be in today meeting for coming and also participating and he also encourage us to be active on our whatsapp group

Adeika Ayo Abraham moved for the adjournment of the meeting to on 28^th July, 2018 and was seconded by Aminu Fatima. Refreshment was give and the meeting ended at 12:35pm.
