SI4DEV Minna Location Group June face to face meeting

The meeting was held at Mawo school on the 8th day of June 2018.

The meeting started by 4:45 pm with an opening prayer from Grace, thereafter, Ifeoluwa welcomed everyone to the meeting. Minuets of the last meeting held on 25th of May 2018 was read out and action points that had been taken were told to the team.

Matters Arising

Drug Abuse Awareness

As agreed on the whats app group, that the awareness would be done in 5 schools within Minna. We agreed on 1 private school and 4 public/government schools, these are:

Mawo International School (our host school and private school)

Maryam Babagida Girls Science School

Father O’Coniel Science School

Zarume School

Government Girls Secondary School

We choose more of government schools because must children/youth who are involved in substance/drug abuse go to these schools.

The awareness was agrees to take place immediately after the sallah break. Letters would be distributed to the schools before the sallah break.

Other materials that could make the awareness fun and easy would be prepared by the team.

Shatter Community Needs Assessment

The shatter community head had been visited as agreed in our last meeting. We agreed to increase the number of survey forms from 100 to 150 as we were informed by the community head that there are 5 villages under it. A date for the assessment was agreed to be chosen on the whats app group as other members were not around.
