The Graduation Ceremony for Digital literacy Training was Conducted for Children at the Potters Orphanage Port Harcourt in partnership With Visible Charity Global Foundation.

BACKGROUND

SI4DEV partnered with visible charity global foundation in May 2018, to bring digital literacy training to the children at POTTERS Orphanage in Rukpoku area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Upon completion of the training, we solicited for support to acquire a desktop computer set for the orphanage, in other for them to have avenue to practice and improve upon the skills acquired during the training program. To this end, SI4DEV, through the help of the Program Manager, was able to provide a desktop for the orphanage home.

The ceremony started with and opening prayer led by Mr. Ekene Achu at 04:30pm. Thereafter, we recited the Nigerian National anthem.

Welcome address on behalf of SI4DEV was done by Mr. Austin Otuji, while Mr. Alexander gave the introductory speech on behalf of visible charity Global foundation.

One of the participants named Miracle represented the others in demonstrating some of the skills acquired during the training. It was in deed very commendable, as she and other orphans were able to show that within the short period of time, they have been able to learn some essential digital skills.

The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of a set of desktop computers to the orphanage.

The initiator of the orphanage gave the vote of thanks to SI4DEV and visible global charity foundation for the kind gesture and prayed for sustainability of the vision of both organizations.

The ceremony came to a close at 05:45pm
